Feeding the Homeless at Epiphany Church

Feeding homeless 1:23:14Thursday evening 1/23 we gathered to feed the homeless group staying at Epiphany Church in San Carlos.  5 Families, 9 children and 7 adults.  We served pizza, pasta, salad, veggies, bread, and Terry Wilson came through with incredible homemade cheesecake and cookies.  Then, our teen Interactors (6 of them volunteered with us) played with the kids, worked with them on homework, and then ended the evening with a rousing game of Uno.  It was a meaningful, personal experience.  Kukos to Pam Alexander who co-ordinated the evening.  Well done.

Second Harvest Food Bank

Steve Eldridge, of The Community Service committee passed around the sign up sheet for the next Second Harvest Food Bank volunteer night, on August 21st. If you didn’t sign up, it’s not too late.  IMG_0402_14_1Volunteers are asked to show up around 6:15pm and will usually be let go by 8:30pm. This is a great way for our club to stay involved through the slow summer months.

Last months effort was a great success.  This is a very efficient way for rotarians to help those in need.  And everyone has a good time.  There’s even more conversation than at our Friday lunch.
